Overview

GPX Tracks is designed to process your routes and saved places locally on your device. The app does not require an account and does not operate a server that stores your GPX files, tracks or waypoints.

Firebase Analytics

GPX Tracks uses Google Firebase Analytics only for optional, non-location usage statistics. You can turn Analytics off at any time in the app settings. When enabled, Firebase may process app interactions, basic technical information, an installation identifier and a general region inferred from the network connection.

GPX tracks, location coordinates, waypoint titles and descriptions, file names, email addresses and contact details are not sent to Firebase Analytics.

GPX files, tracks and waypoints

Recorded tracks, opened or imported GPX files, and saved waypoints — including titles, descriptions, icons and optional links to a track — are processed and stored locally on your device.

Opening, importing, editing and exporting are local app operations. GPX Tracks does not upload this content to the developer. If you share an exported file through Android or another app, the receiving app handles that copy according to its own policy.

Location data

The app uses ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and, when required for background recording, ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION to display your position and record tracks. Recorded location points remain in the local database on your device.

GPX Tracks does not send recorded coordinates, waypoint coordinates or route history to the developer. Online map providers may receive requests for the map area you view and normal network metadata. Those requests are governed by the providers’ own policies.

Elevation data

Track elevation statistics use altitude recorded by your device’s GPS. Calculations are performed locally.

Map data and external services

Online maps use OpenStreetMap data and the configured map tile provider. Viewing online maps may send the requested map area and standard network metadata to that provider.

Permissions

• Location: displaying your position and recording tracks.
• Files: opening, reading and exporting GPX files.

Storage and deletion

Routes, location points, statistics, folders and waypoints are stored locally on your device. You can delete local tracks and hide deleted waypoints using the app controls. Android or your chosen backup provider may retain backups according to your device and account settings.

Because GPX Tracks does not send route or waypoint content to the developer, there is no developer-side copy of that content to delete. Exported or shared files are handled by the destination you choose.

Children

The app is intended for users of all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
